Brief Dr Martens History
Dr Martens sandals shoes and boots were made by in Germany by an orthopedist, Dr. Klaus Martens. Dr Martens sandals were a comfort shoe for ladies first. Then in 1960 Dr Martens were made for the first time in Northamptonshire, England, their home ever since. The first Doc martens boots made was on the 1st April 1960 which is where the boot got its name the 1460. Dr. Martens today makes hundreds of styles of Dr. Martens which are sold all over the world. Dr Martens are known for their stylish designs and thier unique air cushioned soles called airwairs.
